A couple of days ago, a very impressive studio I know came to discuss the matter of "mouth farming" with us and decided to dip their toes in.
Actually, I was quite surprised because, to my knowledge, they are the most typical traditional "studio" and possibly the one with the highest win rate I've seen. They have almost never missed out on any major airdrops (referring to opportunities at the level of Stark, W, etc.).
What surprised me?
Like most people, first, I thought that since they have seized so many big opportunities, they must be at least financially secure, if not wealthy.
Second, in my stereotype, traditional farming users have a significant bias or opinion against mouth farming, even considering it as a competitor.
Unable to sleep in the middle of the night, I suddenly started to understand. I realized that the above two points are also my "biases."
The first point is also a typical logical fallacy: does having money and freedom mean you no longer need to work? In fact, this has long been debunked; whether on Twitter or in private, anyone in this industry will find that over 80% of people continue to work after achieving results.
The second point, I believe, is also a reason why they rarely miss out on major opportunities. They actively communicate with you about various details; dipping their toes in does not mean recklessly transforming directly, but rather being able to let go of biases or pride to understand new things.
The biggest feeling of entering this industry is that learning never stops. After all, energy is always limited, and learning to respect and learn from others' strengths is a necessary condition.
In fact, I want to add that there are indeed many studios around that do not participate.
However, their reasons and motivations are not to look down on mouth trading; rather, after the benefits of hand trading disappear, they have time to turn to learning trading or exploring other fields. Mouth trading is just one option, not the only solution.
