Since the post-$melania bear market turnaround in April, there have been two coins that have been up only, and it's not a coincidence. There is an obsession in crypto with being early, and not just early to a coin, but early to a meta(narrative). So post-meme coin mania, people expected a return to fundamentals, the 'revenue' meta. I think the $pump launch shone a light that it's not that simple. Pump dot fun has insane revenue, but it's not enough to pump the coin. So I think this current meta is better defined as 'professional competence at the top, with community support at the bottom.' Both $Pengu and $rekt are the flagship coins in this front. Both @LucaNetz & @osf_rekt have gone to great pains to express that their projects (@pudgypenguins / @IglooInc / @AbstractChain) and @RektCoin represent their singular professional focus, and that their loyal communities are going to benefit from their support and association every chance they get that makes sense. And while every founder will say that, both have actually proven it already, and continue to do so. There is no need to hold onto a blind hope here, you just need to invest the dozens of hours required reading their posts, watching their videos, listening to their podcasts, and comprehending their respective visions. I don't think it's a mistake that these coins are outperforming almost all others, and unless someone else brings a higher level of professional competence, I expect that will continue. Buy the dips, keep paying attention to the teams, and as long as they keep showing up and shipping, hold on.
