Today, let's talk about a DeFi tool - revolving loans. I will introduce how to use revolving loans on the Benqi platform to optimize assets, increase returns, and control risks at the same time.
What is a revolving loan?
A revolving loan is to use your collateral to lend assets, then pledge the assets lent, continue to borrow more, and recycle several times to double the asset utilization rate and income. In essence, it is a way to increase leverage, but compared with direct leverage in the contract way, the risk is more controllable, and it can basically eat the positive "funding rate".
Take Benqi, for example
Benqi is a lending platform based on the Avalanche network, which is simple to operate, has low fees, and supports ETH, AVAX, and sAVAX (AVAX after staking), which is very suitable for playing revolving loans.
How to play with revolving loans? Basic steps
Let's say you have X ETH and want to amplify your yield with a revolving loan while keeping your borrowing safe. The steps are as follows:
1. First mortgage and borrowing
Deposit X ETH into Benqi as collateral.
Lend some AVAX (e.g. 60% borrowing limit).
2. Stake and repledge
Stake borrowed AVAX into sAVAX to earn staking rewards.
Deposit sAVAX into Benqi as new collateral.
3. Revolving lending
Lend more AVAX, stake it into sAVAX, and continue to deposit.
Repeat this process until the borrowing risk is close to what you think is a safe line (e.g., the health factor drops to around 2.0).
